My husband and I have been discussing where to go for the summer. Last winter, we had a wonderful skiing holiday, staying in luxury chalets in Morzine. Morzine is a great location, a popular mountain resort set between the peaks of Point de Nyon and Chamoissière. When we last visited, during the snow season, the luxury chalets dotted over the village seemed quaint and Christmassy. We enjoyed eating out at local restaurants and dancing the night away, as well as quiet evenings in at our luxury chalet, watching Morzine vanish to silhouette against stunning pink sunsets. Those sunsets were so romantic, so memorable. That’s why I am now desperate to go back. “Why a luxury chalet …

However, only one of them occurred on a perfect, sunny day. And guess which month it was in? April. The couple had already resigned themselves to bad weather for their big day, and had planned a fully indoors ceremony and reception. If they had known that it was to be one of the hottest April days on record, they may have chosen differently. That’s the thing: in Britain, you never can tell! …
